Tunnel 7 Merges With Gravity Switch

Published on Aug 01, 2009

On August 1, 2009 Tunnel 7 merged with another local website design company, Gravity Switch.

I’ve been running Tunnel 7 full time for 2 years now, and working with many of my clients for much longer than that, so this wasn’t a decision that I took lightly.  Ultimately I decided it’s the best decision for myself, and for my clients (and future clients).  Working as part of Gravity Switch will allow me to work with some of the best and brightest minds in website design in our area and to focus more on those things I love (website design / coding) and less on those things I don’t love quite as much (business planning / paperwork).  It also means that I will be able to offer access to many extra resources that Gravity Switch has built up in their 13 years in business including

  • designers with national brand experience
  • dedicated, full-time programmers (PHP, Cold Fusion, etc.) and code testers
  • top notch project management with award winning processes for website development.

If you are a client of mine, you are already well aware of this transition.  However, for those of you considering working with Tunnel 7, I encourage you to contact me at Gravity Switch.  I will be happy to discuss any projects that you’re planning.

For those of you who are already clients of Tunnel 7, I thank you and I look forward to continuing to help you from my new location in Northampton!

Why Web Standards?

Simple visual consistency

Because content and style are separated a style change made in one location affects content across the entire site.

Better search engine results

With the code being much more compact, search engines can easily read content and will display better results for you.

Website maintenance less expensive

With visual appearance controlled by a single file maintenance becomes a breeze. No more changing dozens of individual pages.

Accessibility to all devices

Cell phones, pdas, screen readers — a standards based website will render better in these than a traditional tables based website.
